Ra.One Movie Review

Ra.One is Bollywood's most expensive movie ever made, both promotions and production wise. The highly anticipated and hyped super-hero genre movie produced by Eros International and Shahrukh's production house Red Chillies Entertainment has proved to be a thriller and entertainer.

The movie stars Shahrukh Khan as Shekhar, Kareena Kapoor as Sonia, and Armaan Verma as Prateek , the son. With Shahrukh Khan playing the strong daddy role to son prateek, he wants to prove to his son that he can be a super-hero in his own way. To prove this, Shekhar designs a virtual reality video game for his son to play. Unfortunately for Prateek, the game is so realistic that the characters in the video game, G.One and Ra.One come out of the gaming console to fight the challenge in the real world and Ra.One is in pursuit of Prateek while G.One tries to save him.

With several guest appearances by known faces such as Aditi Goswami, Sanjay Dutt, and Priyanka Chopra's brief stints in the movie, the super-hero flick somewhere dragged and is reportedly monotonous in bits. Apart from the amazing 3D effects, almost real life animation, and never-seen-before action sequences. Director Anubhav Sinha directed this Sci-Fi concept well and started the real thrill in the second half where the narrative and picturization is mesmorising.

The dialogues and humor has reportedly been categorised as slightly vulgar by reviewers largely, which seems strange since the movie is targetted at families and children under the age of 15. However, Shahrukh Khan manages to get a few laughs and entertain the younger audiences. Whereas, the other positive selling point remained the hit song that was released much in advance 'Chammak Challo' sung by Akon, starring Shahrukh Khan and Kareena Kapoor in a gorgeous red saree which had entertaining dance sequences.

No doubt the movie is endearing and entertaining, albeit for a one time watch. Shahrukh Khan fans are treated to a diwali special, however , the Box Office is yet to give its verdict on this Shahrukh Khan production!
