Meet The Dalai Lama At Dharamsala, A Popular Tourist Spot

Mcleod Ganj, which happens to be a village in the Dharamshala municipality is presently where Dalai Lama, the Tibetan exile leader resides. Several tourists from abroad visit this place to meet the Dalai Lama which also houses the exiled Tibetan government.
It is a beautiful spot covered with rather dense coniferous forests consisting of stately Deodars. The climate is monsoon oriented humid subtropical climate. Summer begins in early April and peaks in mid -June, the temperatures can go up to about 36degrees. Summers last till about mid June. Between July to mid September the monsoon begins. Autumn of course is mild and lasts from the time of October to the end of November. The average temperature ranges from 16 degrees to 17 degrees.
The best time for tourists is to visit in autumn and spring months and the climate will be very comfortable. The Dhauladhar mountains are covered by snow all throughout the year.
Dharamsala had been annexed by the Britisers who resided there. Even the Gorkhas also came and settled here.
Popular tourist spots to visit are the Library of Tibetan Works and Archives. Also one can visit the exquisite monolithic temples that date back as far as 8th century. Then there is the Bhagsu waterfall. One can also spend some time at Bhagsunag temple, the Kunal Pathri temple and at the Dal Lake.
