Chana Masala Recipe

Chana Masala Recipe
Celebrate the auspicious occasion of Dussehra with some delicious food recipes.

Preparation time: 25 - 30 mins (approx.)
Serve: 4

Ingredients:

1 1/4 cups Chickpeas (Kabuli Chana)
1 inch piece Ginger
3 Onion (medium)
A pinch of Baking Soda
Salt to taste
5 cloves Garlic
3 small Green Chillies
1 tbsp fresh coriander leaves
4 tbsps Ghee
1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
1 tsp Red Chilli powder
1 cup Tamoto paste
2 tbsp Chana Masala powder

How to cook:

Cook the soaked chana with a pinch of baking soda and salt till soft.
Grind onions into a fine paste.
Grind ginger, garlic and green chillies to a paste
Chop the cleaned coriander leaves.
Add two tablespoons of Ghee in a pan and saute onion paste till it gets pink.
Add ginger garlic paste and continue to saute till a nice aroma is given out.
Add tomato puree and fry till the ghee separates.
Add cooked chana along with the water and keep in low flame.
Sprinkle chana masala over it
Heat the remaining ghee to smoking hot and pour over the masala and stir.
Keep covered for five minutes. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and
serve hot.
