Lafangey Parindey
Changing times have pushed away tried-and-tested formula in film scripts to give way to slightly "different" storylines. So much has changed over the years that a famous banner like Yash Chopra Films has moved from their expertise subject of mushy love stories to new, fresher ideas.....

Giving them credit for this refreshing change, Lafanggey Parindey turns out to be a moderate entertainer. Yash Chopra Film productions seem to be besotted with dance reality shows as this is the second most recent movie where the pivotal point of the story is winning a dance show....

One-shot Nandu (Neil Nitin) belongs to the streets of Mumbai, where the asli Mumbaaikars exist in chawls, congested slums, match-box sized rooms amidst squalor, noise and confusion. A born street-fighter, One-Shot Nandu is apparently a tough, mean, gritty one who shows amazing talent in the fighting ring by knocking his opponents completely blindfolded. His burning desire is to be a part of the underworld gang.

It is kind of hard to digest the fact that One-Shot Nandu is a lad who makes his living on the rough streets of Mumbai. His extremely fair, delicate complexion and entire persona does not match to the toughened slum boy role inspite of the extra efforts spent in his costume styling meant to give him the targeted look.

Pinky Palkar (Deepika Padukone), a wannabe dancer, aspires to be the best dancer on skates in the world. But a cruel turn of fate takes away her vision. Here one starts wondering that how come the heroine does not go through a traumatic period inspite of losing her eyesight in the prime youth. Instead she readily accepts the fact that she is blind and starts training with One-shot Nandu to "see" through her hearing senses...

Watch a romance develop between the bold,free-spirited Pinky and the rugged street boy One-Shot Nandu....As the police investigates the accident of Pinky, will the real culprit b e caught? Along with these, the biggest question is whether Pinky will be able to fulfill her dreams and reach great heights?

The movie has its good moments which come in the form of the fun training sessions when One-shot Nandu's local gang comes together to help Pinky "see" through her other sense organs. But what comes across as annoying is that attempt to look too desi with over-the-top tapori lingo and strong dialogues..Also, how did Pinky manage to get cool outfits which look beyond the range of her paltry income? With Neil's nose bleeding in fights every 2 minutes, one cannot stop wondering that the movie works too hard at portraying his "street-fighter" image...

A one-time watch, this flick is entertaining enough to come across as a decent performer at the box-office....
