Velayudham Movie Review

The eagerly awaited movie 'Velayudham' has been released on the eve of Diwali and got a huge response from the movie lovers. The movie stars Vijay, Hansika Motwani and Genelia D'Souza in the lead roles. 'Velayudham' has been directed by M. Raja and produced by Venu Ravichandran under the banner of Aascar Films. The movie is a remake of super-hit Telugu movie 'Azaad' which was released in the year 2000.

Velayudham is the story about Velu (Vijay), a humble and happy-go-lucky guy who lives with his widowed mother and a beautiful sister Kaveri (Saranya). Hansika Motwani is playing the role of Vijay's love interest in the movie. As his sister Kaveri's wedding fixed, Velu goes to Chennai to withdraw money from a chit fund company.

Later in the movie, Velu happens to involve in few bomb explosives and avoids some bomb blasts with his knowledge. Velu becomes popular as "Velayudham". In the process, Velu meets Genelia in Chennai who plays a role of famous TV reporter. A very influential under world mafia don who had also harassed Genelia. She happens to see an accident in which a bunch of under world goons die, she takes this opportunity to create & glorify a fictional character called 'Velayudham'. The word spreads like wildfire that there is a Man called 'Velayudham' who is the rescuer of the common man.

The rest of the movie revolves around Velu and how he eliminates the under world don and a gang of Militants lead to the climax.

The movie also casts Saranya Mohan , Santhanam, Abhimanyu Singh, Raaghav, M. S. Bhaskar, Sathyan, Pandiarajan, Vincent Asokan, Manivannan, Ilavarasu, Veera Samar, Sampath Raj, Sayaji Shinde and Music scored by Vijay Antony.
