Birla Temple is one of the Seven wonders of Hyderabad city constructed by Birla family. A Hindu Saint advised the Birla family that if they construct a temple, it will bring growth and prosperity to their family and business. A quarter century ago, they built a temple in Hyderabad entirely in marble brought from Rajasthan and dedicated it to Lord Venkateswara. The construction of the temple took 10 years and it was consecrated (Solemn Dedication) in 1976.

It is built on a 280 feet (85 m) high hillock called the Naovath Pahad on a 13 acres plot. The temple, built on a hillock called Kala Pahad, one of the Naubat Pahad twins.
Description:
The Granite of the presiding deity is about 11ft (3.4 m) tall and a carved lotus forms an umbrella on the roof. The presiding deity here is Venkateswara (Vishnu). The consorts of Lord Venkateswara, Padmavati and Andal are housed in separate shrines. There is a Brass flagstaff in the temple premises, which rises to a height of 42 ft (13 m). The tower over the main shrine of Venkateswara called the 'Jagadananda vimanam' is built in the Orissan style, while the towers over the shrines of the consorts are built in the South Indian style. The temple reveals a blend of South Indian, Rajasthani and Utkal temple architectures. It is built entirely of 2000 tons of pure Rajasthani white marble by the Birla Foundation. It looks gorgeous in the night covered with decorated lights.
