Rani Rupmati Mosque

Being one of the few mosques that are named after a Hindu queen, the Rani Rupmati Mosque, Mirzapur, Ahmedabad is a legendary story in itself. Situated towards the Northern side of Ahmedabad city, this mosque was made by Sultan Mehmud Beghara in 1430-1440 A.D.

This mosque is a highly famous tourist attraction. It is widely acclaimed for its features like Tall Minarets, Exquisite Mihrabs, Carved Galleries and Striking Domes. Often described as the Masjid-e-Nagira or 'Jewel of a Mosque', this holy place is immensely lauded for its graceful pattern and well executed design. This place of worship also acts as a shapely interlude between Achut Kuki's and Rani Sipri's mosque. Rani Rupmati mosque consists of three domes that are supported well by lofty pillars. The central dome is created and constructed in a way that it illuminates the entire mosque with gleaming natural light. The tomb of Rani Rupmati lies next to the mosque and acts as a reminiscent of the ancient royal world and a time gone by. The architectural design of this place is a fantastic fusion of both Hindu and Islamic styles of construction. By blending the art and skill of both the religions, this mosque takes pride in making its presence felt. While the bigger domes are surrounded by a chain of twelve pillars each, the smaller ones gently rise in a curved manner and add an essence to the gentility of the mosque. The prayer hall situated at the centre of the mosque is aesthetically carved and is of great value.

Attracting locals and tourists of all beliefs and religions, this place entices everyone with its magnetic charm. Being a renowned mosque, this place remains busy and crowded throughout the year.
