Prithvi Theatre - Lights, Stage, Action!

If you are interested in performing arts and theatre then you must visit Mumbai's most respected and famous institution, the Prithvi theatre. From film screenings to theatre performances, this perfect venue hosts them all. This theatre was built way back in 1970's by the Kapoors, the first family of Bollywood. The basic aim behind setting this theatre up was to promote and broaden the scope of Indian cinema. Prithvi has been named after yesteryear's veteran actor Prithiviraj Kapoor. Being a movie buff myself, I visited this amazing place with my friends and I must say that it was a very enriching experience. I learned a lot about this place and was impressed by the fact that it hosts as many as 400 shows yearly. Prithvi theatre has all kinds of modern facilities and equipments and it regularly organises events at subsidized rates so as to gather as many people and create visibility. This place acts as a terrific platform through which various budding artists showcase their talent. Be it drama festivals, workshops or stage performances, this place sincerely encourages its aspiring actors to learn and polish their skills. A lot of technicians, writers, cooks and stagehands depend on this theatre for their livelihood. This appealing place has slowly but gradually gained impetus and has managed to carve a niche for itself in the busy city life of Mumbai.
