J49 - For The Ones Who Love To Jiggy Wiggy!

If thrill, statues and mirrors intrigue you, then Mumbai's J49 discotheque is the place to be. With its distinct aura and discreet Egyptian statues this discotheque has conspicuously established a mark for itself. All kinds of dance freaks and music lovers can be seen shaking their leg here. The place has been named after its location Juhu and its pin code, 49. It's one of the most happening and known places of Mumbai. Recently when I visited this place I was thoroughly impressed with its ambience and chic decor. The atmosphere was energetic with dim and chunky disco lights adding to its pizzazz. The bartenders were good and service was quick though I found the menu to be a tad bit expensive.

As the night goes into wee hours, people start flowing in armed with zest and enthusiasm. I was happy with this discotheques choice of songs and the audio system that played music with crystal clear clarity. The dance floor is a bit small or should I say it gets so crowded that even a large size would look like Lilliput. Whatever the case might be, the truth remains that it's a great place to unwind and enjoy. The music here ranges from the 80's popular tracks to Trance, Hip Hop and Rock. Don't expect posh and uber rich people to hang out here as the crowd here usually comprises of people who can't afford the expensive cover charges of other lounge bars. The pink room meant for middle aged men seemed to be completely out of place and had me confused me for a while. The range of liquor is good. All in all, I had a rocking time.

So, if you want to enter in make sure you aren't a teenager wearing high heels as both aren't allowed here.
