Jamavar Restaurant - A Gastronomic Rendezvous

Some might find its name a bit quirky but the truth remains that Jamavar is one of the best restaurants of Mumbai. It's situated on the premises of the magnificent Leela hotel. This restaurant's pride lies in the fact that it was recently voted by Forbes as one of the 'World's top power Dining spots'. Last weekend I visited this place with my family and I can definitely say this that I was bowled over by its luxurious interiors and service. Beautiful Chandeliers, Dim Lighting and Intricate Hand-carved Decor enhanced the charm of this splendid restaurant. The Al fresco space facing the lush green trees added to the character of this place.

This restaurant serves its customers delectable Mughlai fare allowing the guests to experience the true essence of Nawabi India. This eatery also serves various cuisines from different regions of India. This restaurant has interesting menu options that range from North Indian to South Indian delicacies. I tried their famous and much raved about Kashmiri dish - Rogan Josh, Murgh Methi Malai, Prawn Mirch Masala and their signature item-The Lobster Neeruli. Each dish was mouth watering and authentic with mellow fragrances and aromatic tastes. Other items like Alleppey Fish curry, Kadhai Masale ka Paneer, Dum Nalli Korma and Meen Kuzhumbu also attract a lot of foodies. I ended my voracious eating spree with the tasty south Indian degree coffee. But I must say that this is not it, as they even offer a long list of options in the beverage section and liquors. From exotic feel-good wines to potent single malt whiskeys, this posh eatery has them all. The classical music playing in the background transports you to the marvellous Maharaja era. One should note that this place is only open for dinners. So, next time you are in the mood to treasure the special flavours of traditional India, the Jamavar restaurant gracefully welcomes you.
