Mahesh Lunch Home - Master of Seafood

Coming to Mumbai and not sampling the seafood here is like having pizza without cheese and if it's Mahesh Lunch Home, then you just can't afford to miss it. Recently on my trip to Mumbai I visited this family restaurant and couldn't stop raving about its food. The ambience here was absolutely informal with brightly lit interiors adding to the warmth of the place. This contemporary yet casual restaurant serves yummy Manglorean food. Established way back in 1977, this restaurant has been serving patrons for the past 25 years. It has played host to many big names of tinsel town. If authentic south Indian cuisine is your weakness then this place takes no time in becoming a favourite. Coconuts and Red chillies both form an integral part of their recipe. This restaurant has three branches in Mumbai -Thane, Juhu and Fort - and all three of them are making a distinct mark for themselves.

Quality is never compromised at Mahesh Lunch Home as they bring in freshly caught Prawns, Crabs and Lobsters to your table for your final approval. From the menu I chose the special Tandoori Crab, The Crab butter pepper garlic and The Prawn gassi with Appam (Rice pancake). Marinated with loads of Masalas, The Crabs were well sauteed and served with aromatic herbs. The Prawns too tasted delicious being dipped in thick appetizing gravy. This place is also famous for its Neer Dosas and Fish curry. This fully air conditioned restaurant also serves Chinese and other Indian fare but seafood is their speciality. The small exotic bar out here serves tasty Wines and Alcohol at your table. You will find different types of foodies mingling here; loyal regulars, expats and tourists. This I can surely say that if you go to Mahesh Lunch Home, I can bet you wouldn't be able to resist its temptation.
