Skii Your Way In Gulmarg, Kashmir

Skii lovers can take off to Gulmarg in Kashmir in the coming winter season. It is the most beautiful spot to be in and the snow-capped Himalayan mountain range can be very alluring. Skiing is a very popular sport and many take to the snowcapped mountains to enjoy the fun.

The skiing season is sometime between November and February and the slopes range from about 8, 500 feet to about 10,500 feet. The uniqueness of Gulmarg is that it is the only heli-skiing resort in Asia.

The airport is closed to Gulmarg and is about 57 Kms away situated in Srinagar. Regular flights are available to all cities from there. The railway station nearby is in Jammu.

Accommodation is not of much problem. Several lodges and hotels are there for a comfortable stay. Hotels available cater to all kinds of budgetary requirements. It is advisable to book accommodation earlier during the peak season.

No doubt, Gulmarg is a safe place to be, but one must seek adequate information about the law and order situation in that area so that one does not encounter any problems.
